KARACHI: Pakistan’s prominent speedster Muhammad Irfan is looking to emulate Wasim Akram’s 1992 Cricket World Cup (CWC) feats in 2015 with outstanding performances with the cherry.

Its my dream and wish to emulate Wasim Akram s feats which paved the way for Pakistan s triumph 22 years ago he told APP in an exclusive interview here at the National Stadium on Monday.

He said with tips from Wasim Akram and coach Waqar Younis, he was trying to develop new armoury in his bowling.

“I idolize Wasim Akram and am trying to develop my bowling on the same style and achieve the same feats,” 32 year old Gaggu Mandi born Irfan said.

He informed that legendary pace duo of the past Wasim and Waqar are great inspiration and motivation for him.

Irfan said due to his extraordinary height his length delivery was bothering and causing a lot of trouble to some top batsmen.

He said his objective and goals are to help Pakistan regain the title in combined effort with his team mates.

Irfan had an outstanding series against Australia and New Zealand in United Arab Emirates in the last few weeks including some wickets. AFP
