FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year winner: Nadine Kessler

FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year winner: Nadine Kessler
At the age of 26, German midfielder Nadine Kessler ended an incredible 2014 by being crowned FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year. The captain of Wolfsburg succeeds fellow German international Nadine Angerer – last year’s winner.

In 2014, Kessler showcased her talents as a pillar for her club, captaining them to the German women’s Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League titles. Those achievements helped her earn the UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe Award for 2013/14. Not content to stop there, the 26-year-old was also a vital member of the German national team that romped to victory in all ten of their FIFA Women’s World Cup™ qualifying matches, and won the Algarve Cup in March.
