Gary Stevens will ride Grandeur in the Manhattan Handicap at Belmont Park on June 7, according to trainer Jeremy Noseda.
The five-year-old grey will have a second consecutive attempt at winning a Grade One in America after he finished a close third in the Man O’War Stakes earlier this month under Julian Leparoux.
The trainer subsequently said he thought his charge should have finished second “with a better ride”
Noseda’s inmate had previously claimed the Coral Easter Classic at Lingfield in April.
The Manhattan Handicap is over a mile and a quarter and forms part of the undercard for the final leg of the American Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes.
Noseda tweeted: “Grandeur worked well on the turf (on Monday) and all on course to run Belmont Day in the Manhattan Grade 1. Delighted Gary Stevens takes the ride.”
