Rampant Pakistan march into World Junior Squash Championship final round

KARACHI: Second-seeds Pakistan moved into the final of the World Junior Squash Championship after beating fifth-seeds Malaysia 2-0 in their semi-final in Windhoek, Namibia.

Pakistan top seed Tayyab Aslam provided a flying start to the team by winning the first match 3-1 against Mohammad Syafiq Kamal. The youngster took just 48 minutes to tame his opponent to give Pakistan the upper hand, which he won with an impressive scoreline of 11-5, 5-11, 11-6 and 11-8.

The next match was played between third seed Asim Khan and Darren Chan Ti Luun that saw Asim dominating and winning in straight sets with a scoreline of 11-5, 11-7 and 11-9.

Second-seed Ali Bokhari got a chance to rest and conserve his energy as Pakistan advanced into the final.

The last two editions of the tournament saw Egypt defeating Pakistan in the finals of 2010 and 2012.
